Thunder Bay Queens Womeen's HockeyMILWAUKEE, Wis. – Sports – The Thunder Bay Sportop midget AA Queens are unbeaten after day 1 of the Tier 1 – 2 Nations Elite Showcase in Milwaukee, Wis.

After opening with the 3-0 victory over Team Detroit in their initial contest Friday, the Queens wrapped up the day by skating to a 1-1 draw vs. the Madison Capitols.

Against Madison the game was scoreless into the third period before the Capitols’ got on the board with a power play tally from Nicole Arnold at 4:52.

The Queens battled back late with Emily Oleksuk notching the equalizer with two minutes remaining as she finished the feed of Bronwyn Bolduc.

A tight-checking affair saw each side fire 19 shots on target with Sydney Isbell tending net for Thunder Bay.

The Queens return to the ice twice Saturday as they take on the Chicago Fury at 8:45 a.m. followed by a 9:30 p.m. match-up with the Shaftesbury Prep Titans of Winnipeg at 9:30 p.m.

They will then wrap-up the Showcase Sunday vs. a yet to be determined opponent and start time.
