THUNDER BAY – Civic Politics – Thunder Bay City Council has decided to sell off Municipal Golf Course. The nine-hole course, favoured by seniors has been put up for sale, and four bids have been received by the deadline.

The tender deadline was Wednesday. The proposals are now going to be evaluated and ranked by the City of Thunder Bay’s Realty Services Department.

It will take about three months for the evaluations to be completed and then the issue will return to Council Chambers for approval of the winning bid.

That could allow the now closed golf course to re-open in time for the 2014 season if the winning bid is to run the property as a golf course.

While there are no bid details available, it is reported that several different uses for the property have been suggested and are possible.
