Thunder Bay QueensTHUNDER BAY – Sports – Both the Thunder Bay Manshield Construction bantam A and First Class Gas bantam AA Queens’ club will be in Minnesota this weekend competing in tournaments.

The bantam A side will be in Grand Rapids taking part in the Star of the North event while the bantam AA squad are off to Duluth to compete in the St. Luke’s Icebreaker Invitational.

The Manshield Construction Queens’ first game is Friday evening at 9:10 p.m. when they take on the High Central Capitals.

From there they’ll meet either the Eagan Wildcats or the Orono Spartans at 10:50 a.m.

As for the FCG bantam AA squad they also open up play Friday evening as they take on a team from Chicago at 9:45 p.m.

Two more tilts will be on the slate Saturday beginning with an 11:30 a.m. encounter with the Prior Lake Lakers.

That will be followed by a 7:45 p.m. match-up with the Wayzata Trojans.

Remaining games for both clubs will go Sunday with opponents to be determined by the Queens’ round robin results.

Both teams will be in search of three-peats after coming off back-to-back tournament titles with each club coming away victorious at the Queens Showcase last month while the bantam A’s won the Traveling Cup in Cloquet, Minn., and the bantam AA’s also won the All-American Girls tourney in Blaine, Minn.
