THUNDER BAY – UPDATED – 17:00EST – TBDSSAB telephone system has been repaired and the service can now receive calls.

The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board (TBDSSAB) is experiencing technical difficulties receiving incoming phone calls to its main office located at 231 May Street South in Thunder Bay. Outgoing calls have not been affected. 

Tbaytel has advised that they are working to rectify the cause of the problem. The time frame for resumption of incoming telephone service to the main number, 766-2111 or other TBDSSAB direct numbers beginning with 766 has not been determined.

As an interim measure the fax lines not affected by this issue, will be used for incoming calls. The following numbers can be used by TBDSSAB clients, funded agencies and members of the general public.

Applications for Ontario Works can be made by visiting the TBDSSAB website:  http://www.tbdssab.ca/Ontario_Works/On_Line_Application.htm

For maintenance emergency calls related to Thunder Bay District Housing Corporation properties, tenants are asked to call 343-0086 until notified that the issue has been resolved.

Messages received through these temporary numbers will be forwarded to the appropriate staff member who will contact the callers by phone. The ability to make outgoing calls has not been affected.
