THUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – Thunder Bay Police are on a child pornography roll. Police in Thunder Bay have laid a second set of charges in two apparent unrelated cases. Charged on Sunday, November 17th with possession of Child pornography was forty-seven year old Peter Williamson.

Williamson was charged following an investigation that started in the summer. 

Former OPP Officer Charged with Child Porn Possession

The accused was a thirteen year veteran of the Ontario Provincial Police who resigned from the OPP in 2007 after a conviction for extortion and other criminal offences.

Police executed a search warrant on Williamson’s North Edward Street home, and seized an Xbox, a desktop computer and a number of flash drives back in October. Following an examination of the computer drives by the Thunder Bay Police Service  Cyber Crime Unit.

Williamson has made his first court appearance and will next be in court on December 13 2013.

None of the charges against Williamson have been proven in court.
