THUNDER BAY – The City of Thunder Bay Tourism department has received an award. Tourism Thunder Bay won an Ontario Tourism Award Thursday night at the gala wrap up to the Ontario Tourism Summit, a two-day event held in Toronto at the Toronto Metro Convention Centre.

City of Thunder Bay Tourism Manager, Paul Pepe acceptedthe provincial award with Carol Caputo, executive director of the Algoma Country Tourism Association from Bill Kenny (middle) of OTMPC as the best in the category of an Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership for the Ride Lake Superior motorcycle touring program. 

Thunder Bay and Lake Superior Bucket List Experience

Ride Lake Superior involved Tourism Thunder Bay and the Algoma Kinniwabi Travel Association from the Sault Ste. Marie region working in partnership with tourism organizations in Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota to promote the motorcycle ride around Lake Superior as a bucket list tourism experience (www.ridelakesuperior.com).

The award was one of the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation’s 2013 Marketing Awards of Excellence handed out at the provincial meeting of tourism partners organized by the Tourism Industry of Ontario.
