Wigginstock – HEY! MO! LET’S GO!

THUNDER BAY – Entertainment – Wiggins Pro-Ductions will be hosting Wigginstock 2013, a two-night music showcase, November 15 and 16 at Black Pirates Pub (215 Red River Rd). The festival will feature over 20 local musicians in 8 bands playing a variety of music, from rock and folk to punk and metal. Partial proceeds from the annual event will be donated to Prostate Cancer Canada as part of prostate cancer awareness month, also known as “Movember”.

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in Canada and around the world. With their “Mo’s”, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and male mental health initiatives. Mo Bros commit to growing a moustache for the 30 days of Movember, and in doing so become walking and talking billboards for the cause. The moustache is their ribbon, the symbol by which they generate conversations, awareness and raise funds for men’s health. Whilst the growing of Mo’s is limited to the guys, Mo Sistas play a vital role in the success of Movember by raising funds and awareness, letting Mo Bros know how fantastic their Mo’s are and, most importantly, encouraging the men in their lives to be aware and take care of their health.

Wiggins Pro-Ductions has once again teamed up with local marketing company, 10.Cal, who will be designing and selling various Movember moustache merchandise at the shows. Proceeds from all moustache merch, including staches-on-a-stick, moustache bottle toppers, and Movember ribbons will also be donated to PCC.

This year’s lineup includes some of the city’s top live acts, including The Greenbank Trio (folk-rock), Don’t You(,) Mean People? (post-rock), Tapout (hardcore), Bottom Rockers (punk rock), Down Converter (stoner-rock), RM & the Honest Heart Collective (folk-rock), Railgun (metal), and Nick Sherman (acoustic rock).
