OPPBlueberry Pickers Find Dead Body

MARATHON – On Saturday August 3, 2013, some blueberry pickers came across a vehicle parked in a remote area located just off Highway 17 in McCron Township between White River and Marathon Ontario. They observed a deceased male in the vehicle and immediately contacted police.

Officers from the Marathon/Manitouwadge detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded and located the vehicle and a lone deceased male in the passenger’s seat.

Officers from the OPP’s Northwest Region Identification Unit and Northwest Region Crime Unit are assisting with the investigation. The identity of the male is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

The investigation is continuing.
