Italian Culture Celebration in Thunder Bay!

THUNDER BAY – The Festa Italiana attracts over 20,000 people over two days. The people enjoy Italian food, music, fellowship, and it is all for a good cause. It is the biggest fundraiser for the Italian Society of Port Arthur. Behind the scenes, the work that goes into the Festa Italiana is massive. It is a volunteer effort that starts almost as soon as the previous year’s Festa is over.

The fun of the day is the music and the food. The line-up for Elephant Ears is the longest at Festa Italiana. The booth run by the Italian Cultural Centre’ Sports Chairman Sam Quaresima and his smiling team has been busy all day, and night. Last night despite making lots of the dough for the treats, they actually ran out!
