Police Seek Witnesses to Come Forward

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police are seeking help from the public. On Tuesday July 9th, at about 3:45PMEDT, uniformed officers attended at an accident scene at the intersection of Brock Street and Ford Street. The collision involved a Ford Ranger pick-up truck and a Chrysler sedan. This intersection is controlled by a four-way stop sign. The truck was being driven by a seventeen year old male, and the sedan by a forty-nine year old female.

Police investigating collision fatality

The collision resulted in injuries that sent an 80 year old female passenger of the car to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. On Thursday, Ellinor Christensen died at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center as a result of her injuries suffered in the accident.

Police are continuing their investigation, and invite any information from any witness that has not yet spoken to police. Please contact Thunder bay Police Traffic Unit at 684-1226.

Thunder Bay Police responded to 235 calls for service over the past twenty-four hours. This included 10 domestic disputes, and 20 alcohol related incidents. Police reported there were also four weapons offenses. In addition police report that there were seven assaults over the reporting period.
