THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police responded to 217 incidents over the past twenty-four hours. There were four assaults that officers were dispatched to attend. Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Fort William Road just before 20:00EDT Monday night in response to reports of a seriously injured male.  A forty-seven year old man was treated at the scene by Superior North EMS and transported to hospital.  The victim is expected to survive his injuries.

The victim appears to have been assaulted in an outdoor area which is known for the use of intoxicating substances by transients.  Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the man’s injuries.  The investigation continues.

Police also had four weapons offences to deal with. One in the 200 block of Park Avenue. Another in the 100 block of Cumberland Street.
