EMO – Motor Racing – Racing resumed at the Emo Speedway after a week hiatus due to wet weather last Saturday. Exciting flag to flag action took place once again in Amsoil Dirt Track Racing Series Action in the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, WISSOTA Modifieds, and Emo Street Stocks.

The WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds were split into two heats with Tylar Wilson and Chuck Lambert on the front row. The race was pretty exciting as Christopher Leek, Wilson, and Lambert made it almost three wide a couple of times before Lambert would claim the win. In the second heat, Cody Ossachuk was able to take advantage of a slip up by Brody Strachan to win the second heat. John Hettinga finished in second with Kenny Perry in third.

The Street Stocks had their heat next with Kendal Gamsby starting on the pole and ran there throughout the entire race with Chris Shine a distant third. Ron Westover cleared up the top three. In the WISSOTA Modifieds, Tyler Brown and Ron Korpi started on the front row, but it was Glen Strachan that would claim the win as he went from the third position and ran the outside line to sweep by the two lead cars. Gavin Paull finished a respectable third after starting in eighth.

The WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds lined up for their feature event with Ken Perry and Kenny Perry on the front row. The flag waved and Ken Perry took the lead right off the get go. He started to pull away from the field until several cautions plagued his attempt to hold the lead. There were a series of cautions until it was Leek and Hettinga running in the top two. Jeff Davis was also in the fight but it was Leek who would take the checkered flag over Hettinga and Davis at the finish line.

#17 Christopher Leek claimed his first feature win of 2013 after finishing a close second two weeks ago.

In the Street Stocks, the race went green to checkered as Westover dominated the other drivers throughout the entire race to take his second feature win in a row and of the year. Gamsby worked his best at gaining ground but ended up in a respectable second place. Returning driver Chris Shine rounded out the top three.

The WISSOTA Modifieds were up next, with Korpi and Strachan on the pole. The early lead went to Strachan, but the feature winner from two weeks ago; Tylar Brown fought hard for the lead. Meanwhile, Paull had moved up into a battle with the others and the race was on. A couple cautions came out and Strachan could not hold the cars behind him as Paull moved up to the lead with Brown trying to keep up. Strachan fell back to third, but before the race was over, he was able to get back by Brown for second place. Paull took the checkered flag claiming his first win at Emo Speedway in 2013.

Racing resumes this coming Saturday night with Hot Laps at 7pm and Racing at 7:30pm.
