THUNDER BAY – The Grade 11/12 U18 Junior Wolves Girls Basketball Team completed their dream season undefeated winning the 2013 Spring Minneapolis Youth Amateur Sport (MYAS) Championship in Minneapolis this past weekend. This is the first MYAS Championship for the Jr Wolves Program as each player earned rings that will be presented at a WNBA game in August. This Championship comes just two weeks after the Jr Wolves won Gold at the Provincial Championship (D2) in Southern Ontario. Game summaries from the weekend follow below.

Junior Wolves Undefeated Dream Season

Head Coach Jon Kreiner comments on the team’s dream season,”I couldn’t be more proud and happy to see this group earn their rings. After losing in the Championship last year to the Minneapolis Shockers, then to be matched up against them in the first round this year, there was a sense of pay-back”.

“Our Junior Wolves came out on fire and won by 43 points against a team that beat them twice last season. It is amazing just how much this group has improved in one year and each player has made an impact.  We are such a deep team and each player has put in countless hours of work on the court training for this Championship. This is a special group that knows how to work hard and they play for one another, not themselves.”
