THUNDER BAY – Editorial – I am awake, I am alive and today I give back.  Today I am delivering a business workshop for new entrepreneurs at the same agency that helped me get my start.  It is always exciting to go back there, to remember the days not so long ago, to give back and with that thought, my mind wanders …

To the young Moms I reassured.  They are so quick to judge, so scared they will do it wrong.  You are fine my girl, your babe will be fine.  Listen to your instincts.  You know what your child needs.

To the women I have guided.  You do not need her approval or his acceptance my girl, for you are beautiful just as you are.  You are talented, you are gifted and you were born to shine, in your own unique and beautiful way.  You will never be him or her, but you will always be a perfect “you”.

To the young men that I wish I could reach.  They are so lost, believing manhood is measured by the alcohol or drugs they consume, the number of women they bed, the number of rules they break.  I wish I could reach them and show them what we need from our warriors so that perhaps, finally, we wouldn’t be so lost.

Yes I am awake, I am alive and today I give back, as much and as often as I can.  To who is up to Creator, but the act is up to me and I must give back.  I owe it after all, to all of those that brought me to this place, this place where I have finally realized just how much I have to give back.

I love you!
