THUNDER BAY – It was a cowardly act of terror. But courage and honour were front and centre in Boston yesterday. The actions of First Responders; Police officers, Fire Fighters, volunteers, and medical teams demonstrated all that is best in humanity. As the bombs exploded, it is the first responders who run toward the blast.

They demonstrated the best qualities that we all admire.

The cowardly attacks which happened at 4:09 of the marathon, have injured 144 people, they have maimed many people, and three people so far have been murdered by the attack. Seventeen of the people are in critical condition as they fight for their health and lives.

Normal people can not comprehend the mindset that would build an explosive device, set it, and explode it murdering innocent people.

It is a sick and demented mindset that kills children.

President Obama has reacted and promised that justice will reign. The American President made the decision that led to the death of Osama bin Laden. Those who did the cowardly acts in Boston are now in the cross-hairs of an investigation. The rest of their lives will be determined as a result of their cowardice.

The London Marathon is this coming weekend. Security is going to be under review in London.

The likely results of the attack in Boston will be a renewed vigilance and a renewed sense that it will be fought.

It is going to take a fighting spirit, something Boston is famous for, to recover from this attack.

For the terrorists, one might almost think they would be better off being captured by authorities. The people of Boston would likely be less forgiving.

This moment demonstrates why no terrorist will ever win. The courage and honour shown by real people always comes to the forefront.

It happened in New York, Boston, and Washington on September 11 2001. It happens everywhere that cowardly terrorists attack people.

It is happening right now in Boston.
