2012 Battle of the Atlantic Commemoration Event in Thunder Bay

The Sleeping GiantTHUNDER BAY – Local Event – The 2012 Battle of the Atlantic Commemoration event organized by Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Griffon will happen on May 6, 2012. HMCS Griffon‘s ships company will be joined by various naval organizations and associations. The commemoration honours those sailors, both from the military and Merchant Marine, who gave the ultimate sacrifice while maintaining the trans-Atlantic sea lanes that were so essential to supplying the Allied war effort during WWII.

  • Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps 42 Vindictive,
  • Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps 309 Fort William,
  • Royal Canadian Air Cadet Corps 66 Challenger,
  • Navy League Cadet Corps Thunder,
  • MacGillivray Pipe Band.
