NAPS lays drug charges in Attawapiskat

NAPSATTAWAPISKAT – CRIMEBEAT – On April 22, 2012, members of the Attawapiskat Detachment of the Nishnawbe-Aski Police with the assistance of the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Drug Enforcement Unit charged a woman under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act after receiving information about drug trafficking.

Police located Oxycodone prescription pills hidden inside a package worth a street value of approximately two thousand ($2,000.00) dollars.

Twenty-four year-old Kimberly Patricia Okimaw has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Okimaw has been released on conditions, and will next appear in court in Attawapiskat on August 29, 2012.
