rendez-vous-2012THUNDER BAY – HEALTHBEAT – The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) will host Rendez-vous 2012 in October. Dr. Roger Strasser, the Chair, International Advisory Committee and Dean shares, “On behalf of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) and the conference hosts, please accept this invitation to join us in Thunder Bay, Northern Ontario, Canada on October 9-14, 2012. Rendez-vous 2012 will inspire health professionals, educators, students, and researchers from all parts of the world—with world-renowned keynote speakers, lively workshops, new ideas, and international networking opportunities—all in the natural beauty of Canada’s North”.

The overall goal of the Rendez-Vous 2012 Conference is to convene health professionals, educators, students, and researchers from all parts of the world to share experiences, opportunities, and challenges of community participation in education, service, and research.

Through a variety of forums during the conference, participants’ involvement will include engaged and thought provoking discussions and collaborative learning related to their perspectives of, insights in, and innovative strategies for community participation in education, research and service.

This conference will bring together the Wonca World Rural Heatlh Conference and The Network: Towards Unity for Health annual conference, as well as the next NOSM/Flinders Conference on Community Engaged Medical Education, the Consortium for Longitudinal Integrated Curricula, and the Training for Health Equity Network.
