Thunder Bay Police have had a busy week

crimebeatTHUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – Thunder Bay Police have had a busy week. It is a pattern that continues. Over the past several days, updates from the Thunder Bay Police Service on crime in our city were slow to come forward. On November 29, 2011 Drug Enforcement Officers executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant on a residence in the 400 block of Wentworth Crescent Thunder Bay. A female, Echo May Buset age 32 years was taken into custody.

A search of the residence located approximately 30 grams of suspected powder cocaine with a street value of approximately $3,700.00, as well as approximately $1,610.00 in Canadian currency. Buset is being held in custody for a Show Cause hearing charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking S. 5(2) CDSA and Proceeds of Crime S. 354 ((1)(a) Criminal Code. Buset was previously arrested and charged with similar offences in August 2011.

On November 30, 2011 Drug Enforcement Officers executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant on a residence in the 200 block of Villa Street Thunder Bay. Donald Quinlan age 39 years, Bonnie Aggamaway age 32 years were taken into custody. A search of that residence and persons located approximately 184 – 80 milligram tablets of Oxycodone, 92 Percocet tablets and approximately 10 grams of suspected crack cocaine. Street value of all drugs seized is approximately $16,550.00. Also seized was approximately $9,745.00 in Canadian currency.

Quinlan, and Aggamaway are being held in custody. They are charged with Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking S. 5(2) CDSA, Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking S. 5(2) CDSA, and Proceeds of Crime S. 354(1)(a) Criminal Code. Aggamaway is also charged with Breach of Probation S. 733.1(1) Criminal Code.

As well, at approximately 11:00 on the 30th November 2011 members of the Drug Unit executed a drug warrant on a north side residence. A 32 yr old female, a 25 yr old male and a 40 yr old male are in custody for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Oxycodone and Cocaine. They are also facing charges of Proceeds of Crime. All three will be in bail court this morning.

Then, at approximately 9:00 pm on the 30th November 2011 officers attended a north side residence on a 911 call. A 56 yr old male is in custody after he had an argument and a shoving match with another male occupant. The accused male attended the shed and retrieved an axe and brought it into the kitchen. The other male had been for warned and stayed upstairs. The accused proceeded to punch a hole in the drywall. The male will be attending bail court this morning on a charge of Weapons Dangerous. No Injuries are reported in this incident.

Next, at approximately midnight, a 40 yr old female was brought into custody for Breaching an Undertaking. While in custody the female allegedly spit on the police officer’s face with a mouth full of blood. The female attended bail court yesterday morning facing charges of Assault Police and Breach of an Undertaking. The police officer attended the TBRHSC ER.

That was followed at approximately 2:23AM when a 29 yr old male was taken into custody after allegedly pulling a knife on a female on Simpson Street. The intoxicated male allegedly didn’t like the respond that he received from the female and threatened the female with an “exacto” knife. He was arrested shortly thereafter and will attend bail court facing charges of Assault with a Weapon and Weapons Dangerous. No injuries reported.

As well, a male has been charged with Drive a Motor Vehicle with more than 80mgs of alcohol, after Thunder Bay Police conducted a RIDE program on River St. In another overnight incident, a 55 yr old male has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle by drug and alcohol after he almost driving into a train at a railway crossing.
