Manitoba Over Lakehead 74-67

ThunderwolvesWINNIPEG – (With files from Sheldon Appelle) Fifth year forward Mubo Ilelaboye scored a game high 34 points to lead the Manitoba Bisons to a 74-67 victory over the Lakehead Thunderwolves at the BOB FM Shootout Sunday morning at the Duckworth Centre.

Ilelaboye finished the contest shooting 12-of-18 from the field, including a perfect six-for-six from three point territory. Ilelaboye led the Bisons with 12 rebounds and was named a Tournament All-Star for her efforts. Lauren Mortier added 12 points for Manitoba.

Lindsay Dreury led the Thunderwolves with 14 points. Carolyn Fragale added 12. Lacy McNulty and Katie Ulakovic each scored 10 points.

Manitoba led at the halftime break 34-30. Lakehead heads home from the three day event with a record of 0-3.

Lakehead coach Jon Kreiner said, “We put ourselves in a big whole giving up 28 first quarter points. We did a good job in 2nd only giving up 6 but we allowed a team’s best player burn us for 34. We got some great experience this weekend and have lots to work on”.
