THUNDER BAY – Environment Canada has issued an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds or heavy rainfall. Monitor weather conditions and keep abreast for updated bulletins.
Conditions are favourable for the development of isolated severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Many areas are likely to escape thunderstorm activity, however thunderstorms that do develop are likely to become severe. Wind gusts to 90 km/h and hail to 2 cm in diameter are the main threats with these storms. Brief heavy downpours and frequent lightning are also possible.
