ServerTHUNDER BAY – Over the past 24 hours, since the new NNL website went live, we have continued to work on the site. Traffic numbers over the first day have proven to us the need to upgrade the server once again, which has now been completed as of 3:00PM on Monday. You may have experienced some slowness to the site earlier as a result of the need for that upgrade.

On Sunday, visits to the site set a new Sunday record for NetNewsledger.  As usual, all of our upgrades are done with the “NASA Approach” we are doing it live and in front of you. That does mean, sometimes, like earlier today, you might have found the site a little slow.

Tonight, as the team discussed, there was little sense having a Ferrari, but not having a full tank of gas. With today’s upgrades, we feel that your visit should be far more enjoyable. Netnewsledger.com is exclusively running on HP Proliant servers with RAID-10 SAS drives and efficent virtualization. It is making a huge difference for your time on our site.

Just to share, there is a neat new feature on the site as well. If you highlight a word in an article, or double click a letter, with your mouse, and click on the “Learn More” box that opens up you will be able to get more information on the word you have highlighted. This allows you to find out even more information on the topic you are reading about. It is a great way to become more engaged with what is happening in our region, and community.

If you have an idea you would like to see, or a story topic you would like to see us cover, please feel free to share it with us. We are listening.

On behalf of the NNL Team, and the Team at The Urban Boutique, thank you for your investment of time visiting NNL.
