THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Police Service are reporting that a running shoe was discovered on the north shore of the Kaministiquia River near the James Street Bridge on March 21, 2011. Volunteer searchers found the shoe in a snow bank. The discovery was made in the vicinity of the ship pier near the location where a hat had been discovered last month.

Investigators believe that there is a high probability that the shoe could have belonged to missing person Jordan Wabasse. Jordan was last seen on the evening of February 7, 2011.

The discovery of the shoe was made possible by the melting of snow in the area. The Criminal Investigations Branch will be exploring water search options with the Ontario Provincial Police.

Anyone with information on the disappearance of Jordan Wabasse are asked to contact The Thunder Bay Police at 807 684-1200 or Thunder Bay District Crime Stoppers 623-8477 (TIPS)
