Bill MauroTHUNDER BAY – The Municipality of Neebing are working to develop new marketing strategies to attract investment and strengthen community development.  The funds are coming from the Northern Communities Investment Readiness (NCIR) initiative.

“The NCIR program is helping Neebing pursue new economic opportunities through a marketing strategy to attract new investors and stimulate local growth.  I’m confident that a clear and concise plan now will pay dividends for the community’s future,” shared Bill Mauro, the MPP for Atikokan.

Neebing will:

  • Design a marketing strategy focused on attracting new investors to the area
  • Meet with business and municipal representatives to discuss economic opportunities, and report on marketing strategy recommendations.
  • Strengthen economic and community ties with nearby Oliver-Paipoonge by working in partnership to promote economic growth in the area.

“The McGuinty government is providing northern communities with the tools to create the investment and marketing strategies that will lay the foundations for strong communities, regional growth and prosperity,” enthused Michael Gravelle, Minister of Northern Development, Mines and Forestry and Chair of the NOHFC.
