THUNDER BAY – Talks held this week in Sudbury between the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) and the School’s Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) Staff Unit have resulted in a tentative settlement of a first collective agreement between the parties.

The deal is subject to ratification by OPSEU Staff Unit’s members, and approval by NOSM’s Board of Directors.  Further details will be available at that time.

The approximately 150 members included in the School’s OPSEU Staff Unit represent employees in office, clerical, administrative, technical and service positions.

The Northern Ontario School of Medicine remains committed to reaching a first collective agreement with the OPSEU Staff Unit which fairly reflects the unique nature of NOSM and its workforce.

There is no comment on the agreement from OPSEU yet.
