THUNDER BAY – PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise is assisting women in the

region to work towards becoming debt free, whether through their businesses or their jobs.

Today PARO is presenting “Smart Women Smart Money”, a conference aimed at assisting

entrepreneurs.

PARO Executive Director Rosalind Lockyer says; “Knowing how to manage money is a major challenge for women who wish to become debt free, and lack of funding remains one of the biggest obstacles for those looking to start a business. There is the initial stress about acquiring enough money to get the process started, and then not making enough”.

The “Smart Women Smart Money” conference provides tools and resources to help entrepreneurs find solutions. The one day event features eight workshops that focus on resources available, how to apply for financial support to hire staff, and some step by step advice about becoming debt free.

Lockyer continues; “Experienced guidance is the best support system of all, and that is exactly what we offer at PARO through our many unique programs and qualified staff.”

Highlighting the conference is famous keynote speaker Gail Vaz Ox-Lade of the hit TV show “Til Debt Do Us Part.” Vaz Ox-Lade is an expert on debt, writing eleven published books and hosting three prime-time television shows.

Vaz Ox-Lade says she is “hell-bent on getting people to take control of their money and their lives.” During her address she highlighted taking the well balanced approach to life. Ox-Lade says; “I’m all about change, and I believe that we can have anything we want in life..anything.”
